Clothing: Solid, deep colors seem to translate best on-screen. Wearing a solid color which compliments your natural skin tone, eye and hair color is a good idea. Comfort is another factor, so be sure to wear something which will not make you feel uncomfortable. Turtlenecks and tee-shirts complicate our disguising your microphone, so please try to wear a top which has a regular collar if at all possible.

What to bring: Bring with you any information which will help us know the names and roles of persons you are likely to mention during your interview. Not only does this information help us better understand you and your life-story and facilitate a better interview, it will enable us to prompt or otherwise help you through any moments of forgetfulness. We will have water and tissues handy before and during your interview. There are bathroom facilities located just across the hallway.

If you are having someone drop you off and pick you up, he or she should expect to come back in about an hour and fifteen minutes. We do not encourage anyone to wait for you in our lobby, as even his or her unseen presence can distract you.
